The supporters of Sarmiento booed when Fernández FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eustacio Dei didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 15th match minute, Fernández FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aureliano Isauro to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Fernández FC getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Eustacio Dei hit a great ball. Victor Chinto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Victorino Ubendu having to interfere. Gustavo Eguntsenti showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carlos Gimenez, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Victor Chinto in the 21st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Victorino Ubendu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 26 minutes into the match, Sarmiento's goal looked a bit too open when Carlos Gimenez came free, but Gustavo Eguntsenti reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 27 minutes into the match, Fernández FC's Carlos Gimenez sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gustavo Eguntsenti narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Gualterio Bidun blasted a shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Gustavo Eguntsenti having to make a save. When Aureliano Isauro fell near the penalty area in the 32nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Fernández FC's protests and gave Aureliano Isauro a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Fernández FC's Aureliano Isauro got a free kick in the 33rd minute. After 36 minutes, Silvio Gomez mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Fernández FC and the Sarmiento players grew even worse after the yellow card. A very good chance. 46 minutes into the match, Fernández FC's goal looked a bit too open when Victor Chinto came free, but Victorino Ubendu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 48th minute, Victor Chinto got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Carlos Gimenez made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Elpidio Bizen in the 57th minute of play forced Fernández FC's goalkeeper Victorino Ubendu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 59th minute, Aureliano Isauro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Elpidio Bizen managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sarmiento's supporters rose to their feet, but Elpidio Bizen was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Victorino Ubendu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Elpidio Bizen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Victorino Ubendu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Elpidio Bizen in the 69th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Elpidio Bizen in the 71st minute of play forced Fernández FC's goalkeeper Victorino Ubendu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Elpidio Bizen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Victorino Ubendu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Elpidio Bizen in the 78th minute of play. When Elpidio Bizen came up free with the goalie in the 80th minute, the Sarmiento fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Elpidio Bizen couldn't finish the play. Augusto Burni hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. Elpidio Bizen struck a weak shot in the 97th minute. Victorino Ubendu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sarmiento.
