The supporters of Atlas F.C booed when Estudiantes LP was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sixto Pierres didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alfredo Madeo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 10th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 12 minutes into the match, Atlas F.C's goal looked a bit too open when Gerardo Sansone came free, but Eduardo Cordarius reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 14th minute, Guaberto Bonifaco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 20 minutes into the match, Sixto Pierres had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Eduardo Cordarius. Atlas F.C's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Sixto Pierres was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Marco Lleir was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 24th minute. Atlas F.C's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. After 33 played minutes Estudiantes LP got a freekick which was hit by Guaberto Bonifaco. 45 minutes into the game, André Eckegren was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Atlas F.C's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Estudiantes LP the free kick. André Eckegren kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 46th minute, Gerardo Sansone managed to get in a good position for a shot. Estudiantes LP's supporters rose to their feet, but Gerardo Sansone was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eduardo Cordarius breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After the first half Estudiantes LP were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Alfredo Madeo to strike the kick off in the second half. Alfredo Madeo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Octavio Florin having to interfere. After 53 minutes, Guaberto Bonifaco mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Estudiantes LP and the Atlas F.C players grew even worse after the yellow card. Guaberto Bonifaco kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. André Eckegren fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Octavio Florin having to interfere. When Sixto Pierres fell near the penalty area in the 58th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Estudiantes LP's protests and gave Sixto Pierres a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Estudiantes LP getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Sixto Pierres hit a great ball. In the 62nd minute, Estudiantes LP's Gerardo Sansone ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Eduardo Cordarius. Eduardo Cordarius yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-2. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 66th minute of the game. One of Atlas F.C:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Estudiantes LP:s goal. Eduardo Cordarius went to the wrong direction when Manuel Oihan was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. Sixto Pierres who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 69thth minute tested the skills of Eduardo Cordarius when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 72nd minute, André Eckegren hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 73rd minute, Sixto Pierres made a precise shot to the right of Eduardo Cordarius. Atlas F.C's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. Atlas F.C's Eduardo Cordarius proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 77th minute of the match, managed to save Atlas F.C from getting a goal against them. Gerardo Sansone might have been able to make a better finish in the 78th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Eduardo Cordarius. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gerardo Sansone ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 83rd minute, Sixto Pierres got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Guaberto Bonifaco came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the Estudiantes LP fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Guaberto Bonifaco couldn't finish the play.
