After 7 minutes of play, Talagapa's Jorge Hitzeder made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Emilio Intxixu was left in no man's land by his defense there! Jorge Hitzeder fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Emilio Intxixu having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as Saturnino Bastian kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Emilio Intxixu. That made the score 2-0 in the 18 minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Talagapa's Jorge Hitzeder slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Emilio Intxixu. That made the score 3-0 after 22 minutes of play. If Jorge Hitzeder had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jorge Hitzeder sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Saturnino Bastian fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Emilio Intxixu having to interfere. Emilio Intxixu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jorge Hitzeder's shot from short distance in the 46th minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Adan Ferran to make the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Banfield FC's zone, Saturnino Bastian stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Emilio Intxixu came out of the goal and Saturnino Bastian tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Emilio Intxixu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jorge Hitzeder, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Agustin Clis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Emilio Intxixu having to interfere. Agustin Clis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 75th minute, Agustin Clis managed to get in a good position for a shot. Talagapa's supporters rose to their feet, but Agustin Clis was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Emilio Intxixu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Leon Mateo hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. The audience was convinced that Jorge Hitzeder's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Emilio Intxixu was relentless in the 84th minute of the game. If Saturnino Bastian had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jorge Hitzeder in the 88th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Emilio Intxixu saved Banfield FC from getting behind. After 89 played minutes Talagapa got a freekick which was hit by Angel Frasco. With a little luck, Talagapa's Miguel Libertad got control of the ball when Agustin Marin tried to sneak it across the goal line. Jorge Hitzeder kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. In the 94th minute Iker Jerano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emilio Intxixu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Saturnino Bastian scored 4-0 in the 96th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Emilio Intxixu, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Talagapa had played much better football throughout.
