When the match had gone on for 15 minutes, Segundo Cuartio took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Erasmo Leizarraga to make any attempt to save it. Erasmo Leizarraga took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Segundo Cuartio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 20th minute of the match, Federico Eguen got a very nice opportunity to score, but Erasmo Leizarraga was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. 23 minutes into the match, Esperanza's goalkeeper Erasmo Leizarraga had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Federico Eguen. When Feliberto Ospetsu came up free with the goalie in the 29th minute, the Esperanza fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Feliberto Ospetsu couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fernando Javiar in the 31st minute of play forced ROMA's goalkeeper Gaston Oliviero to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Erasmo Leizarraga made a fantastic save in the 38th minute, when Segundo Cuartio sent off a good shot on target. After some careless play in the ROMA defense, Fernando Javiar kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gaston Oliviero. The ROMA fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gaston Oliviero should have stopped the shot.

52 minutes into the match, Esperanza's goal looked a bit too open when Segundo Cuartio came free, but Erasmo Leizarraga reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. But to his dismay, Segundo Cuartio quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-1. In the 81st minute, Federico Eguen ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Erasmo Leizarraga was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-1.
