Mario Niva might have been able to make a better finish in the 4th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Marcos Neron. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Mario Niva ran back to his position shaking his head. The supporters of Constitución booed when Boca Juniors was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Delmar Marz didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 7th minute of the match Gilberto Kaxen sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Marcos Neron skillfully saved the ball. Fidel Silviano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Marcos Neron tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 12th match minute, Constitución was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Augusto Martinez to maneuver through the defense. Constitución's Mario Niva got a good chance for a goal in the 15th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Delmar Marz hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. Luis Gorosti showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Isidoro Emesto, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. In the 20th match minute, Constitución was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cristo Osoro to maneuver through the defense. 22 minutes into the game, Mario Niva cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Marcos Neron was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Marcos Neron made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mario Niva in the 27th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Mario Niva's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Marcos Neron was relentless in the 32nd minute of the game. Fidel Silviano recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 37th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Marcos Neron stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Fidel Silviano's shot from short distance in the 41st minute. 43 minutes into the game, Fidel Silviano cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Marcos Neron was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Isidoro Emesto stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Fidel Silviano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mario Niva fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcos Neron having to interfere. After 67 played minutes Boca Juniors got a freekick which was hit by Justino Perrando. Mario Niva was extremely unlucky when he, in the 69th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. With a little luck, Boca Juniors's Marcos Neron got control of the ball when Fidel Silviano tried to sneak it across the goal line. Lorenzo Blasi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Luis Gorosti tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lorenzo Blasi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luis Gorosti having to interfere. Marcos Neron stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Mario Niva's shot from short distance in the 81st minute. Constitución's Mario Niva got a good chance for a goal in the 83rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Boca Juniors's Marcos Neron played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alberto Bernaldo in the 86th minute of play. Fidel Silviano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcos Neron having to interfere. Jose Aznar kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match. In the 96th minute Mario Niva shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcos Neron saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
