With a couple of smart ball manuevers Leonides Mercurio in the 12th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Florentino Mazuste saved Zelaya from getting behind. After some fancy dribbling in the 14th minute, David Guter managed to get in a good position for a shot. Zelaya's supporters rose to their feet, but David Guter was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Natalio Fernandes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Leonides Mercurio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Florentino Mazuste tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Delmar Santiago who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 21stth minute tested the skills of Florentino Mazuste when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 26 minutes into the match, Zelaya's goalkeeper Florentino Mazuste had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Delmar Santiago. Delmar Santiago fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Florentino Mazuste having to interfere. In the 46th minute the ball was on its way in behind Zelaya's goalkeeper Florentino Mazuste, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

In the 53rdth minute of the game Leonides Mercurio who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Zelaya's Florentino Mazuste was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Leonides Mercurio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Florentino Mazuste tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Leonides Mercurio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
