He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Gorina reached it. In the 3rd minute, Benedicto Ofelio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 5 minutes into the match, Wheelwright FC's goalkeeper Robustiano Leizarraga had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Mariano Montae. In a very dangerous position, a player in Wheelwright FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 5th minute. Penalty! When the match had been going on for 7 minutes, Gorina's Rigoberto Breogan got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Robustiano Leizarraga. In the 14th minute Rene Virila shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Saverio Bautista saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Victoriano Lopes kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. Saverio Bautista showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zeledon Ereinotz, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. If Rene Virila had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Angelo Ebardo hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. 23 minutes into the game, Wheelwright FC's Zeledon Ereinotz nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Saverio Bautista made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Saverio Bautista showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rene Virila, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. Rene Virila struck a weak shot in the 33rd minute. Saverio Bautista didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Wheelwright FC. Zeledon Ereinotz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Saverio Bautista having to interfere. Wheelwright FC's Placido Marin suffered a sore knee after 36 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Eleuterio Natal hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. Mariano Montae fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Robustiano Leizarraga having to interfere. Severiano Perfecto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 49th minute. Robustiano Leizarraga tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Severiano Perfecto made the kick off in the second half. 54 minutes into the match, Wheelwright FC's goal looked a bit too open when Severiano Perfecto came free, but Robustiano Leizarraga reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Angelo Ebardo during the 56th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 56th match minute, Gorina was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Angelo Ebardo to maneuver through the defense. The long shot by Cornelio Lawrence in the 57th minute really tested Saverio Bautista's skills. Rene Virila sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 70 played minutes Gorina got a freekick which was hit by Rigoberto Breogan. Wheelwright FC's Rene Virila got a good chance for a goal in the 76th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Bernardo Ermano fell near the penalty area in the 77th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Gorina's protests and gave Bernardo Ermano a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Wheelwright FC booed when Gorina was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bernardo Ermano didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rene Virila fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Saverio Bautista having to interfere. Saverio Bautista made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rene Virila in the 80th minute. Rene Virila sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Saverio Bautista made a fantastic save in the 85th minute, when Rene Virila sent off a good shot on target. Rene Virila's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Saverio Bautista read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 90th minute of play. If Jacobo Frans had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rene Virila received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Saverio Bautista tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 96th minute, Jacobo Frans reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Saverio Bautista. The goal made the score 1-2. When the match was over Wheelwright FC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Gorina throughout the match.
