The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Aldo Erramu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Mateo Hartz in the 4th minute. Leonardo Vela hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. Mateo Hartz blasted a shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Aldo Erramu having to make a save. Isaac Calvino showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nicasio Ponce, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. XO FC's Aldo Erramu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 17th minute of the match, managed to save XO FC from getting a goal against them. Aldo Erramu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Herminio Oihan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Aldo Erramu was a little too slow when Herminio Oihan got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 26th minute. The score was now 1-0. After some careless play in the Higuerita defense, Guido Dabi kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Isaac Calvino. The Higuerita fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Isaac Calvino should have stopped the shot. Casimiro Oliverios kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in XO FC's zone, Arturo Iyan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Aldo Erramu came out of the goal and Arturo Iyan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. XO FC's Aldo Erramu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Herminio Oihan in the 36th minute of play. Guido Dabi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Isaac Calvino having to interfere. Isaac Calvino took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Guido Dabi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 45 minutes into the match, Higuerita's goal looked a bit too open when Nicasio Ponce came free, but Isaac Calvino reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 46th minute, Oscar Santikurtz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Nicasio Ponce sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Herminio Oihan stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Abelardo Tristan during the 92nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Higuerita booed when XO FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Abelardo Tristan didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Eulalio Haritz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The XO FC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
