After a rather tough play, Independiente's Tadeo Lehoi got a free kick in the 26th minute. 29 minutes in the game, Marcos Fonso fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Maximo Florinio having to interfere. After 33 played minutes Aguirre got a freekick which was hit by Celso Burutzagi. Aquiles Vermudo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Marcos Fonso was extremely unlucky when he, in the 47th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Norberto Crispo was the one to do the kick off. Marcos Fonso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Maximo Florinio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 77 minutes into the match, Independiente's goal looked a bit too open when Aquiles Vermudo came free, but Maximo Florinio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 83 minutes into the match, Aquiles Vermudo notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Independiente's Maximo Florinio. Maximo Florinio was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Maximo Florinio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aquiles Vermudo in the 90th minute of play. Maximo Florinio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Primitivo Gilen in the 92nd minute of the match. After having played for 94 minutes, Marcos Fonso managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Aguirre's supporters crossed their fingers, but Marcos Fonso was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Independiente's zone, Marcos Fonso stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Maximo Florinio came out of the goal and Marcos Fonso tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Aguirre walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
