The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Rafael Nesor showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Arnoldo Olivar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Benedicto Su in the 46th minute of play.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Erubiel Regis stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Ramon Lluques came up free with the goalie in the 70th minute, the New City FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ramon Lluques couldn't finish the play. 71 minutes into the match, APA's goal looked a bit too open when Desiderio Lizardi came free, but Arnoldo Olivar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Domingo Afonso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. APA's Domingo Afonso got a good chance for a goal in the 93rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Arnoldo Olivar made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ramon Lluques in the 97th minute. New City FC succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though APA had controlled the match.
