Justo Urtzi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ladislao Frichoso having to interfere. 14 minutes into the game, Pastor Jorrin was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Renca FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Fortuna the free kick. Pastor Jorrin hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. 20 minutes into the match, Renca FC's goal looked a bit too open when Justo Urtzi came free, but Ladislao Frichoso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ladislao Frichoso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Melchor Lonzo in the 22nd minute of play. Justo Urtzi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Melchor Lonzo in the 34th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ladislao Frichoso saved Renca FC from getting behind. 38 minutes into the game, Melchor Lonzo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Ladislao Frichoso was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Benito Espiridion kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. Renca FC's Ladislao Frichoso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Melchor Lonzo in the 45th minute of play. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Justo Urtzi to strike the kick off in the second half. Justo Urtzi's late challenge caught a Renca FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Justo Urtzi helped the player get up and apologised. 60 minutes into the match, Renca FC's Albino Roldan sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Aaron Francesco narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Melchor Lonzo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If Justo Urtzi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Melchor Lonzo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Renca FC's Ladislao Frichoso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Justo Urtzi in the 69th minute of play. When Justo Urtzi was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 70 minutes had been played. In the 71st minute, Justo Urtzi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Aaron Francesco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Florencio Perpinya in the 73rd minute of play. If Melchor Lonzo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Joel Luzea came up free with the goalie in the 87th minute, the Fortuna fans jumped to their feet. The audience thought a goal was coming when Melchor Lonzo got free with Ladislao Frichoso in the 98th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
