Edgardo Emesto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Edgardo Emesto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leopoldo Ishmael, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. Gilberto Cordarin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Abel Ibar in the 16th minute of the match. Ovidio Oinaz struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Edgardo Emesto didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Club Mártires de Chicago. 24 minutes into the match, Pastillos AFC's goalkeeper Edgardo Emesto had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ovidio Oinaz. Florencio Berbiz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 33rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 42nd minute, Ovidio Oinaz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Leopoldo Ishmael fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edgardo Emesto having to interfere. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Abel Ibar made the kick off in the second half. In the 55th minute, Maximo Gerazan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 56th minute, Leopoldo Ishmael managed to get in a good position for a shot. Club Mártires de Chicago's supporters rose to their feet, but Leopoldo Ishmael was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Edgardo Emesto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Abel Ibar was extremely unlucky when he, in the 58th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. The supporters of Pastillos AFC booed when Club Mártires de Chicago was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Florencio Berbiz didn't get a good kick on the ball. After recieving a nice pass, Pastillos AFC's Omar Barrionuevo tried to score from far away in the 60th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gaudencio Mitxel got free with Gilberto Cordarin in the 62nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Abel Ibar might have been able to make a better finish in the 67th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gilberto Cordarin. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Abel Ibar ran back to his position shaking his head. Gilberto Cordarin made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gaudencio Mitxel in the 69th minute. Gilberto Cordarin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Abel Ibar in the 72nd minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Club Mártires de Chicago's German Mikeldi got a free kick in the 72nd minute. 76 minutes into the match, Pastillos AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Ovidio Oinaz came free, but Edgardo Emesto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Pastillos AFC's Abel Ibar got a good chance for a goal in the 83rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Club Mártires de Chicago's Ovidio Oinaz in 84 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Edgardo Emesto guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Leopoldo Ishmael in the 86th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Edgardo Emesto saved Pastillos AFC from getting behind. Gilberto Cordarin didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gaudencio Mitxel went, in the 96th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. The Club Mártires de Chicago manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Pastillos AFC to win.
