Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Hector Huly got the match started through his kick off. In the 4th minute Abel Pelagius shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Serafin Ihazintu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to C.A. VELEZ SARSFIELD getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Haroldo Cordarius hit a great ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Miguel Itzaina during the 6th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Armando Cruz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jeronimo Eli in the 8th minute. Saladillo's Higinio Videl suffered a sore foot after 9 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Miguel Itzaina kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. In the 14th minute, Abel Pelagius got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jorge Napier sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Serafin Ihazintu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jorge Napier in the 26th minute of the match. Saladillo's Serafin Ihazintu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jorge Napier in the 27th minute of play. Serafin Ihazintu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jorge Napier in the 28th minute of play. Serafin Ihazintu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Abel Pelagius, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jorge Napier sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Serafin Ihazintu came out of the goal in the 36th minute to try and stop a shot by C.A. VELEZ SARSFIELD's Jorge Napier. But to his dismay, Jorge Napier quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Jorge Napier sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The supporters of C.A. VELEZ SARSFIELD booed when Saladillo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hector Huly didn't get a good kick on the ball. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The wind increased when Jorge Napier made the kick off in the second half. Armando Cruz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fermin Karmel in the 52nd minute of play. After 53 played minutes C.A. VELEZ SARSFIELD got a freekick which was hit by Abel Pelagius. It was beautiful to see Saladillo's Jeronimo Eli in action when he in the 57th minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! The audience thought a goal was coming when Jorge Napier got free with Serafin Ihazintu in the 60th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Igor Guillem was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 67 minutes into the match. In the 70th minute there was a penalty for C.A. VELEZ SARSFIELD. Feliciano Umea stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Serafin Ihazintu. 0-3. In the 72nd minute Fermin Karmel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Armando Cruz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jeronimo Eli sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Fermin Karmel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Esteban Firman struck a weak shot in the 86th minute. Armando Cruz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Saladillo. The excitement rose when Saladillo's Jeronimo Eli after 94 played minutes turned away three defenders near the goal, and after that shot a ball that was too difficult for C.A. VELEZ SARSFIELD's goalkeeper to hold. Score! 1-4. Fermin Karmel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 98th minute. Armando Cruz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
