The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Francisco Anaya made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Virgilio Guillelmo in the 3rd minute of play. In the 5th minute of the match Boca Juniors got a corner. CA Zarate Azulgrana's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Sixto Gomesano ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Boca Juniors's Sixto Gomesano to fire away a dangerous shot which Francisco Anaya despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. CA Zarate Azulgrana's Cirilo Enmanuel got a good chance for a goal in the 6th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Boca Juniors's Tiburcio Barros in the 8th minute got a chance for a shot 8th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye CA Zarate Azulgrana's goalie prevented a goal. Salvador Isidor hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. After 15 minutes, Jonathan Orlondon mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the CA Zarate Azulgrana and the Boca Juniors players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, CA Zarate Azulgrana's Jonathan Orlondon got a free kick in the 15th minute. Francisco Anaya made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Felipe Oinatz in the 16th minute of play. Tiburcio Barros struck a weak shot in the 17th minute. Francisco Anaya didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Boca Juniors. Felipe Oinatz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Francisco Anaya having to interfere. Francisco Anaya showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Felipe Oinatz in the 25th minute of the match. After 28 minutes, Felipe Oinatz made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. CA Zarate Azulgrana's Francisco Anaya tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Tiburcio Barros fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Francisco Anaya having to interfere. Leopoldo Mendez walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. CA Zarate Azulgrana's Francisco Anaya played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Felipe Oinatz in the 42nd minute of play. Felipe Oinatz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Francisco Anaya tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Felipe Oinatz made a kick off. After 53 minutes, Victor Ordono mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Boca Juniors and the CA Zarate Azulgrana players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 53rd minute, Victor Ordono hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Francisco Anaya showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Felipe Oinatz, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. When Felipe Oinatz came up free with the goalie in the 60th minute, the Boca Juniors fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Felipe Oinatz couldn't finish the play. Abelardo Kaxen took the ball and in the 63 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Francisco Anaya. Francisco Anaya dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. If Tiburcio Barros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luciano Clementi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cleto Marcones having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cirilo Enmanuel in the 83rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cleto Marcones prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Jonathan Orlondon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 91 minutes into the match, CA Zarate Azulgrana's Luciano Clementi sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Cleto Marcones narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 91st match minute, Boca Juniors was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Abelardo Kaxen to maneuver through the defense. In the 93rd minute, Luciano Clementi ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Cleto Marcones was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2.
