In the 6th minute Saturnino Ermengol shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Anier Dei saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. River Plate were awarded a corner in the 7th minute after Pirata Cordobes's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Ignacio Fonso took the corner. River Plate's Ignacio Fonso was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Anier Dei in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 10th minute, Saturnino Ermengol got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 13th minute, Generoso Osoitz ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Anier Dei was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Anier Dei took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Generoso Osoitz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Hector Jaunzuria recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 18th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Ignacio Henry had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 22nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Pirata Cordobes's goalkeeper Anier Dei, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Ignacio Henry received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Anier Dei tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Anier Dei showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Generoso Osoitz in the 29th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Generoso Osoitz in the 34th minute of play forced Pirata Cordobes's goalkeeper Anier Dei to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 54 minutes into the match, Pirata Cordobes's goal looked a bit too open when Generoso Osoitz came free, but Anier Dei reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Fulgencio Telo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Delmiro Iraido having to make a save. In the 57th match minute, River Plate was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Niceto Sindo to maneuver through the defense. Generoso Osoitz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Anier Dei tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Generoso Osoitz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anier Dei having to interfere. After 63 played minutes Pirata Cordobes got a freekick which was hit by Hector Jaunzuria. Anier Dei made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ignacio Henry in the 65th minute. With an all-out effort, River Plate's Anier Dei threw himself towards the right post 68 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Generoso Osoitz, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Hector Jaunzuria fired away a difficult shot at goal in the 70th minute. He almost succeeded, but the ball went over. It was a very nice shot. The supporters of River Plate booed when Pirata Cordobes was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fulgencio Telo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Generoso Osoitz struck a weak shot in the 83rd minute. Anier Dei didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for River Plate. Generoso Osoitz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Anier Dei tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 90th minute, Generoso Osoitz managed to get in a good position for a shot. River Plate's supporters rose to their feet, but Generoso Osoitz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Anier Dei breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Generoso Osoitz in the 92nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Anier Dei prevented the ball from getting in the gole. River Plate played a much better game than Pirata Cordobes and deserved their victory. The Pirata Cordobes players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
