After a defensive mix-up in VARSELONA's zone, Arnoldo Bertin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cirilo Mendez came out of the goal and Arnoldo Bertin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 10 played minutes FC Boulougne Sur Mer got a freekick which was hit by Marcelino Chano. Cirilo Mendez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Modesto Argider in the 13th minute of play. Victorio Loreto recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 14th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Cirilo Mendez acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 17th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Nemesio Peyo. An unexpectedly hard shot by Victorio Loreto in the 21st minute of play forced VARSELONA's goalkeeper Cirilo Mendez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Victorio Loreto to make the kick off. Cirilo Mendez stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Arnoldo Bertin's shot from short distance in the 54th minute.
