In the 9th minute Hermengildo Elia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jeronimo Millan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Mario Telmo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 12 minutes, Cornelio Chayo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cañani FC and the Travesía AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 15th minute, Cañani FC's Eulalio Peru ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Amador Gabon. Amador Gabon yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Amador Gabon made a fantastic save in the 19th minute, when Eleuterio Igon sent off a good shot on target. With a little luck, Travesía AFC's Amador Gabon got control of the ball when Eleuterio Igon tried to sneak it across the goal line. During the 26th minute of the match Cornelio Chayo completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Cornelio Chayo a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. The supporters of Travesía AFC booed when Cañani FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cornelio Chayo didn't get a good kick on the ball. 31 minutes into the match, Travesía AFC's goalkeeper Amador Gabon had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Eleuterio Igon. An unexpected shot in the 33rd minute by Eleuterio Igon got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. In the 34th minute, Nunez Cordareo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the match had gone on for 36 minutes, Eleuterio Igon put it in 2-0 from a short distance just to the right of Amador Gabon. The audience thought a goal was coming when Eleuterio Igon got free with Amador Gabon in the 40th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Marciano Theobald might have been able to make a better finish in the 41st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Amador Gabon. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Marciano Theobald ran back to his position shaking his head. After some careless play in the Travesía AFC defense, Eleuterio Igon kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Amador Gabon. The Travesía AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Amador Gabon should have stopped the shot. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

In the 53rd minute, Eleuterio Igon made a precise shot to the right of Amador Gabon. Travesía AFC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-0. Jeronimo Millan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hermengildo Elia in the 57th minute of the match. After having played for 59 minutes, Hermengildo Elia managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Travesía AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hermengildo Elia was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Marciano Theobald came up free with the goalie in the 75th minute, the Cañani FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marciano Theobald couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Cañani FC's Feliberto Darien got a free kick in the 78th minute. After 87 minutes, Nunez Cordareo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Travesía AFC and the Cañani FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Eleuterio Igon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Nunez Cordareo was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 92 minutes had been played. In the 93rd match minute, Travesía AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nunez Cordareo to maneuver through the defense. Cañani FC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
