In the 11th minute Laureano Fertus shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fidel Jakes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Newells fc's Feliciano Maldonado suffered a concussion after 54 minutes and had to leave the field.
