The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Vladimiro Manuelo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Salvador Odon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Isaac Astudillo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Vladimiro Manuelo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Salvador Odon in the 13th minute of play. Teobaldo Palben charged in rather forcefully in the 14th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Teobaldo Palben the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Teobaldo Palben kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. When Bruno Eliu came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the Matará fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bruno Eliu couldn't finish the play. Salvador Odon took the ball and in the 17 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Vladimiro Manuelo. Vladimiro Manuelo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Bruno Eliu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vladimiro Manuelo having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Bruno Eliu in the 42nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Vladimiro Manuelo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Salvador Odon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half Matará were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Salvador Odon was the one to do the kick off. Salvador Odon could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 51st minute of the match, but Vladimiro Manuelo made a huge save. After a defensive mix-up in Janta's zone, Bruno Eliu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vladimiro Manuelo came out of the goal and Bruno Eliu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Vladimiro Manuelo made a fantastic save in the 54th minute, when Bruno Eliu sent off a good shot on target. In the 55th match minute, Janta was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ermegildo Orlondo to maneuver through the defense. In the 56th minute, Salvador Odon got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 59 minutes into the match, Janta's goalkeeper Vladimiro Manuelo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bruno Eliu. Salvador Odon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Vladimiro Manuelo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Salvador Odon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vladimiro Manuelo having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Raimundo Garci during the 72nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 72 played minutes Matará got a freekick which was hit by Raimundo Garci. Salvador Odon blasted a shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Vladimiro Manuelo having to make a save. After a rather tough play, Janta's Eduardo Pereyra got a free kick in the 80th minute. Daniel Gelmiro took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 81st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Vladimiro Manuelo. Janta's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Bruno Eliu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Vladimiro Manuelo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, Janta's Vladimiro Manuelo got control of the ball when Bruno Eliu tried to sneak it across the goal line. Vladimiro Manuelo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Salvador Odon, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. Salvador Odon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Vladimiro Manuelo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Matará's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
