After 17 minutes, Freddy Crispo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Tacoyoj and the Pontaut AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 17th match minute, Tacoyoj was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Freddy Crispo to maneuver through the defense. Arnaldo Beti showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zeledon Cordarell in the 18th minute of the match. 24 minutes into the game, Benedicto Hanot was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Tacoyoj's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Pontaut AFC the free kick. In the 24th match minute, Tacoyoj was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Benedicto Hanot to maneuver through the defense. Joel Naike fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arnaldo Beti having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 32nd minute, Gavino Savier managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pontaut AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Gavino Savier was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Arnaldo Beti breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Zeledon Cordarell had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half Pontaut AFC were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Roque Txurio stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 54 minutes Pontaut AFC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Humberto Sugar who took care of the corner kick. In the 58thth minute of the game Gavino Savier who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Tacoyoj's Arnaldo Beti was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a rather tough play, Tacoyoj's Oscar Salomon got a free kick in the 61st minute. Carlos Felipo was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 62nd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Zeledon Cordarell fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arnaldo Beti having to interfere. After having played for 80 minutes, Gavino Savier managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pontaut AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gavino Savier was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Arnaldo Beti was out of position in the 82 minute of play, and Gavino Savier capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Gavino Savier really showed his touch with that goal: 0-3. 87 minutes into the match, Tacoyoj's goalkeeper Arnaldo Beti had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Zeledon Cordarell. Benedicto Hanot got his second yellow card in the match during the 88th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Benedicto Hanot hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Wilfredo Fagondo during the 91st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.
