The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Cristo Balasi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nicasio Licerio made a fantastic save in the 6th minute, when Elpidio Blanco sent off a good shot on target. 7 minutes into the game, Simon Kepa was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Salsedo AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Club Atletico Independien the free kick. In the 7th match minute, Salsedo AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Simon Kepa to maneuver through the defense. A hard shot by Fabricio Abella from long distance, 8 minutes into the match, got Nicasio Licerio's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. 10 minutes into the game, Paulo Gabon was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Club Atletico Independien's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Salsedo AFC the free kick. The supporters of Salsedo AFC booed when Club Atletico Independien was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Paulo Gabon didn't get a good kick on the ball. 13 minutes into the match, Salsedo AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Samuel Aguirre came free, but Nicasio Licerio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Salsedo AFC's Simon Kepa got a free kick in the 13th minute. Nicasio Licerio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristo Balasi in the 16th minute of the match. With an all-out effort, Club Atletico Independien's Nicasio Licerio threw himself towards the right post 18 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Cristo Balasi, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 21st minute, Simon Kepa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Salsedo AFC's Niceto Totakoxe got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Simon Kepa struck a weak shot in the 24th minute. Santos Tino didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Salsedo AFC. When Elpidio Blanco came up free with the goalie in the 28th minute, the Club Atletico Independien fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Elpidio Blanco couldn't finish the play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Elpidio Blanco got free with Nicasio Licerio in the 33rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a defensive mix-up in Salsedo AFC's zone, Elpidio Blanco stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nicasio Licerio came out of the goal and Elpidio Blanco tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Paulo Gabon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Salsedo AFC's zone, Cristo Balasi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nicasio Licerio came out of the goal and Cristo Balasi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Nicasio Licerio made an important save on a dangerous shot by Elpidio Blanco in the 46th minute. Cristo Balasi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Nicasio Licerio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Cristo Balasi stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Santos Tino showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Niceto Totakoxe, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. Santos Tino didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Niceto Totakoxe went, in the 53rd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Santos Tino made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Niceto Totakoxe in the 57th minute of play. 65 minutes into the match, Salsedo AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Elpidio Blanco came free, but Nicasio Licerio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Elpidio Blanco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nicasio Licerio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Elpidio Blanco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 70 minutes into the match, Samuel Aguirre notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Salsedo AFC's Nicasio Licerio. Nicasio Licerio was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When Club Atletico Independien's Elpidio Blanco in the 74th minute got a chance for a shot 74th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Club Atletico Independien's Cristo Balasi got a good chance for a goal in the 86th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 93 minutes into the match, Salsedo AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Samuel Aguirre came free, but Nicasio Licerio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Niceto Totakoxe sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 99 minutes, Niceto Totakoxe managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Salsedo AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Niceto Totakoxe was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Club Atletico Independien were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Salsedo AFC for a fine match.
