The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 4 played minutes Córdoba FC got a freekick which was hit by Teo Ederono. The supporters of Covello FC booed when Córdoba FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Humberto Ticho didn't get a good kick on the ball. Marco Bermudez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arturo Oxarra in the 12th minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Covello FC's Armando Beltran slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Aquiles Isaio. That made the score 2-0 after 13 minutes of play. Donato Gil scored 3-0 in the 19th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Aquiles Isaio, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Saul Xabier fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aquiles Isaio having to interfere. Patricio Valentine fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aquiles Isaio having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Donato Gil's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Aquiles Isaio was relentless in the 30th minute of the game. Arturo Oxarra fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marco Bermudez having to interfere. Covello FC's Marco Bermudez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arturo Oxarra in the 36th minute of play. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Marco Bermudez showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. With 39 minutes on the clock, Amado Quexal commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Covello FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 38th minute. Penalty! In the 41st minute there was a penalty for Córdoba FC. Omar Librado stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Marco Bermudez. 3-1. In the 46th minute Amador Abastas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marco Bermudez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Saul Xabier stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Armando Beltran hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. Marco Bermudez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Amador Abastas, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Covello FC's zone, Arturo Oxarra stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marco Bermudez came out of the goal and Arturo Oxarra tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 70th minute, Saul Xabier got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 75 minutes into the match, Covello FC's goal looked a bit too open when Amador Abastas came free, but Marco Bermudez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Saul Xabier had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Humberto Ticho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 92nd minute of the match, but Marco Bermudez made a huge save. 96 minutes into the match, Córdoba FC's Arturo Oxarra sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Marco Bermudez narrowly saved just below the crossbar. There was no doubt that Covello FC were the better team. Covello FC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
