Spectators: 7310 (Terracing: 5484, Seating: 1681, VIP seats: 145) After 2 played minutes El Trébol got a freekick which was hit by Damaso Vergaray. In the 4th minute, Norberto Che hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Rogelio Bibiano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Roque Rocio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Manuel Serapio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Rogelio Bibiano came up free with the goalie in the 19th minute, the Salto fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rogelio Bibiano couldn't finish the play. El Trébol's Bernabe Sabino played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rogelio Bibiano in the 24th minute of play. Roque Rocio came out of the goal in the 25th minute to try and stop a shot by El Trébol's Manuel Serapio. But to his dismay, Manuel Serapio quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Salto's Rogelio Bibiano got a good chance for a goal in the 29th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 31st match minute, Salto was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Honorato Playo to maneuver through the defense. In the 36th minute, Manuel Serapio fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. After a defensive mix-up in Salto's zone, Manuel Serapio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Roque Rocio came out of the goal and Manuel Serapio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 47th match minute, Salto was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fabio Noe to maneuver through the defense. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Manuel Serapio in the 50th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Roque Rocio prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

In the 56th minute of the match El Trébol got a corner. Salto's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Alvaro Moise ran over to the corner to take the kick. El Trébol's Alvaro Moise was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Roque Rocio in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. After some fancy dribbling in the 58th minute, Norberto Che managed to get in a good position for a shot. El Trébol's supporters rose to their feet, but Norberto Che was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Roque Rocio breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 60thth minute of the game Norberto Che who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Salto's Roque Rocio was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 61st minute the ball was on its way in behind Salto's goalkeeper Roque Rocio, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Damaso Vergaray had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 68 minutes, Bonifacio Abilio mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Salto and the El Trébol players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 69th minute, Bonifacio Abilio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Norberto Che in the 72nd minute of play forced Salto's goalkeeper Roque Rocio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. El Trébol's Norberto Che got a good chance for a goal in the 75th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 78th minute, Rogelio Bibiano got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Norberto Che sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 87 minutes into the game, one of Salto:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. After a defensive mix-up in Salto's zone, Norberto Che stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Roque Rocio came out of the goal and Norberto Che tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Rogelio Bibiano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 98th minute. Bernabe Sabino tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. El Trébol's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
