After a defensive mix-up in Puelén's zone, Salvador Playo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Desiderio Kauldi came out of the goal and Salvador Playo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Dionisio Blanco made the kick off in the second half. If Salvador Playo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute.
