That made the score 1-0 in the 8 minute of play. 13 minutes into the match, Sportivo Atenas Rio IV's Ricardo Bihar sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Astor Quinito narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After having played for 15 minutes, Adan Bastiaro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sportivo Atenas Rio IV's supporters crossed their fingers, but Adan Bastiaro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a little luck, Embarcación's Astor Quinito got control of the ball when Adan Bastiaro tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ricardo Bihar might have been able to make a better finish in the 22nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Astor Quinito. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ricardo Bihar ran back to his position shaking his head. When Sportivo Atenas Rio IV's Ricardo Bihar in the 25th minute got a chance for a shot 25th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. After recieving a nice pass, Sportivo Atenas Rio IV's Leonel Maria tried to score from far away in the 28th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. In the 30th minute, Sportivo Atenas Rio IV's Ricardo Bihar dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. Sportivo Atenas Rio IV's Adan Bastiaro got a good chance for a goal in the 37th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Adan Bastiaro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Astor Quinito tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ricardo Bihar to make the kick off. After 51 minutes, Epifanio Marin mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Embarcación and the Sportivo Atenas Rio IV players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Embarcación's Epifanio Marin got a free kick in the 51st minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Leonel Maria managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sportivo Atenas Rio IV's supporters rose to their feet, but Leonel Maria was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Astor Quinito breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 59th minute Ricardo Bihar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Astor Quinito saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Lorenzo Sotil fell near the penalty area in the 65th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Embarcación's protests and gave Lorenzo Sotil a yellow card for diving instead. In the 65th match minute, Embarcación was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lorenzo Sotil to maneuver through the defense. Sportivo Atenas Rio IV were awarded a corner in the 68th minute after Embarcación's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Leonel Maria took the corner. Placido Galo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Norberto Frasquito having to interfere. In the 93rd minute Adan Bastiaro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Astor Quinito saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ricardo Bihar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Astor Quinito tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sportivo Atenas Rio IV's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
