Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Sanford's Santo Amor started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After some fancy dribbling in the 5th minute, Marcos Lore managed to get in a good position for a shot. Saint Michael FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Marcos Lore was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Adrian Lertxun breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Damian Rik fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Freddy Hondo having to interfere. A collision led to Sanford getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Eustacio Precioso hit a great ball. In the 14th minute of the match Cristobal Ordono shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Adrian Lertxun showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Marcos Lore received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Adrian Lertxun tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Santo Amor received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Freddy Hondo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Saint Michael FC's Marcos Lore got a good chance for a goal in the 28th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 33 minutes, Victoriano Nastasio mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sanford and the Saint Michael FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 33rd minute, Victoriano Nastasio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Adrian Lertxun was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 34th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Cristobal Ordono. If Cleto Txerran had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cleto Txerran's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Adrian Lertxun read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 38th minute of play. Victor Paulin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Adrian Lertxun tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Cleto Txerran had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Victor Paulin was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 43rd minute. Saint Michael FC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Sanford's Adrian Lertxun played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcos Lore in the 46th minute of play. In the 48th minute, Santo Amor got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.

After a defensive mix-up in Saint Michael FC's zone, Santo Amor stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Freddy Hondo came out of the goal and Santo Amor tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Damian Rik recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Adrian Lertxun showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marcos Lore in the 57th minute of the match. Santo Amor hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 60th minute, Cleto Txerran managed to get in a good position for a shot. Victor Paulin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 79th match minute, Sanford was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pastor Corderun to maneuver through the defense. When Victor Paulin fell near the penalty area in the 87th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Saint Michael FC's protests and gave Victor Paulin a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Sanford booed when Saint Michael FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Victor Paulin didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 88th minute, Pastor Corderun got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
