The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of Caballito AFC booed when Tancacha FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jorge Carlomagno didn't get a good kick on the ball. Angel Olivar hit a great ball. Caballito AFC's Leon Xabel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Antonio Mano in the 9th minute of play. When Angel Olivar came up free with the goalie in the 11th minute, the Caballito AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Angel Olivar couldn't finish the play. Adolfo Chorche blasted a shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Justo Ospin having to make a save. 12 minutes into the match, Caballito AFC's Marciano Sotil sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Justo Ospin narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 13 played minutes Tancacha FC got a freekick which was hit by Patricio Haimar. Edelmiro Abadia hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. In the 22nd minute of the match Saturnino Oso shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Leon Xabel showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Tancacha FC's Anibal Monico got a good chance for a goal in the 24th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Justo Ospin made a fantastic save in the 28th minute, when Adolfo Chorche sent off a good shot on target. If Antonio Mano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Tancacha FC's Anibal Monico in the 38th minute got a chance for a shot 38th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Caballito AFC's goalie prevented a goal. Leon Xabel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anibal Monico, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In a very dangerous position, a player in Tancacha FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 40th minute. Penalty! Antonio Mano recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 48th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Marciano Sotil made a kick off. A collision led to Tancacha FC getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Dionisio Florin hit a great ball. Justo Ospin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adolfo Chorche, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 61st minute Adolfo Chorche shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Justo Ospin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Antonio Mano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leon Xabel having to interfere. Angel Olivar hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anibal Monico in the 66th minute of play forced Caballito AFC's goalkeeper Leon Xabel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With his leg Leon Xabel managed to avoid a goal in the 69thth minute, when Tancacha FC's Antonio Mano fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anibal Monico in the 70th minute of play forced Caballito AFC's goalkeeper Leon Xabel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Tancacha FC defense, Adolfo Chorche kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Justo Ospin. The Tancacha FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Justo Ospin should have stopped the shot. Antonio Mano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Leon Xabel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Guaberto Nesto hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match.
