The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Maximiliano Vitin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tobias Botello, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tobias Botello in the 6th minute of play forced Fundamentalistas FC's goalkeeper Maximiliano Vitin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tobias Botello received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Maximiliano Vitin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Prospero Erramun during the 12th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 12th minute, Prospero Erramun hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience was convinced that Tobias Botello's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Maximiliano Vitin was relentless in the 17th minute of the game. When Amancio Gora fell near the penalty area in the 19th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Fundamentalistas FC's protests and gave Amancio Gora a yellow card for diving instead. After 20 played minutes Fundamentalistas FC got a freekick which was hit by Amancio Gora. After recieving a nice pass, Petroquímica's Nunez Niguel tried to score from far away in the 21st minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Tobias Botello fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Maximiliano Vitin having to interfere. Rolando Ubendu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Maximiliano Vitin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 33rd minute, Andres Medero managed to get in a good position for a shot. Petroquímica's supporters rose to their feet, but Andres Medero was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Maximiliano Vitin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 36th minute Tobias Botello shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Maximiliano Vitin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Maximiliano Vitin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Andres Medero in the 40th minute of play. Tobias Botello's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Maximiliano Vitin read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 41st minute of play. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

In the 52nd minute, Erubiel Colon ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Camilo Emeterio was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Andres Medero kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. 67 minutes into the match, Petroquímica's Andres Medero sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Maximiliano Vitin narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 70 minutes into the game, Tobias Botello cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Maximiliano Vitin was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 75 minutes into the match, Petroquímica's goal looked a bit too open when Esteban Firme came free, but Camilo Emeterio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 80th minute, Tobias Botello reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Maximiliano Vitin. The goal made the score 1-2. Rolando Ubendus short, quick shot in the 85thth minute got Maximiliano Vitin to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. If Tobias Botello had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A hard shot 88 in the game by Tobias Botello from a close distance when the talented Maximiliano Vitin managed to make a qualified save. Fundamentalistas FC's players were relieved. Andres Medero sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 92 minutes into the match, Fundamentalistas FC's goalkeeper Maximiliano Vitin had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tobias Botello. Prospero Erramun fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Maximiliano Vitin having to interfere. Camilo Emeterio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Esteban Firme in the 95th minute of the match. When the final whistle sounded Petroquímica left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Fundamentalistas FC.
