Spectators: 6681 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1681, VIP seats: 0) Ricardo Errolan started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. In the 8th minute Juan Hitz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pascual Osoro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 10th minute, Rodrigo Jayvier made a precise shot to the right of Pascual Osoro. Escobar's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Juan Hitz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Pascual Osoro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rodrigo Jayvier in the 15th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Pascual Osoro saved Escobar from getting behind. Pascual Osoro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rodrigo Jayvier in the 21st minute of play. Juan Hitz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 26 played minutes Escobar got a freekick which was hit by Elvio Frederik. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Juan Hitz in the 28th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Pascual Osoro prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Melchor Benitez's late challenge caught a Samuhú's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Melchor Benitez helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Samuhú booed when Escobar was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Melchor Benitez didn't get a good kick on the ball. After the first half Samuhú were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Rodrigo Jayvier to strike the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the match, Samuhú's goal looked a bit too open when Ricardo Errolan came free, but Jorge Cheche reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Cornelio Fernado fell near the penalty area in the 53rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Samuhú's protests and gave Cornelio Fernado a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Samuhú getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Cornelio Fernado hit a great ball. 56 minutes into the match, Samuhú's goal looked a bit too open when Ricardo Errolan came free, but Jorge Cheche reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Samuhú's Juan Hitz got a good chance for a goal in the 58th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cornelio Fernado got free with Pascual Osoro in the 62nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Juan Hitz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cornelio Fernado hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. Pastor Aimar recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 69th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 79 minutes, Cornelio Fernado managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Samuhú's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cornelio Fernado was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 81st minute, Escobar's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Juan Hitz fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Pascual Osoro made a fantastic save in the 87th minute, when Cornelio Fernado sent off a good shot on target. A collision led to Escobar getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Ricardo Errolan hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 89th minute, Juan Hitz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Samuhú's supporters rose to their feet, but Juan Hitz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pascual Osoro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Samuhú's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
