Banfield's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Wonderland the free kick. The supporters of Wonderland booed when Banfield was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Albano Aguirre didn't get a good kick on the ball. Silvano Pudes's late challenge caught a Banfield's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Silvano Pudes helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Wonderland's Silvano Pudes got a free kick in the 8th minute. In the 10th match minute, Wonderland was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Victorio Telmo to maneuver through the defense. 15 minutes into the match, Banfield's goal looked a bit too open when Adrian Shantala came free, but Igor Atarrabi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adrian Shantala in the 20th minute of play forced Banfield's goalkeeper Igor Atarrabi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Igor Atarrabi made an important save on a dangerous shot by Victorio Telmo in the 35th minute. Maximino Gabirel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 46 played minutes Banfield got a freekick which was hit by Igor Anaya. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Adrian Shantala made a kick off. Jesus Esiquio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Adrian Shantala in the 55th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Igor Atarrabi prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Evaristo Ostots, 60 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. After a rather tough play, Banfield's Clemente Herena got a free kick in the 66th minute. 68 minutes into the match, Wonderland's Victorio Telmo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Igor Atarrabi narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The Banfield players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Wonderland from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
