Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Andres Ermano started the match with the kick off. After 2 played minutes Potrero got a freekick which was hit by Jeremias Eguerdi. Marcos Shepherd kicked well hit freekick during the 6th minute of the match. With his leg Zeledon Macias managed to avoid a goal in the 7thth minute, when Potrero's Igor Asier fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 8th minute, C.A RIVER PLATE's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Osvaldo Ipar fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Abel Fraco in the 10th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Zeledon Macias prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Igor Asier fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zeledon Macias having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Andres Ermano in the 22nd minute of play forced Potrero's goalkeeper Aquilino Liher to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 24th minute the ball was on its way in behind C.A RIVER PLATE's goalkeeper Zeledon Macias, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Edgard Norino's late challenge caught a Potrero's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Edgard Norino helped the player get up and apologised. Edgard Norino kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. Osvaldo Ipar received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Zeledon Macias came out and tried to block the shot, but Osvaldo Ipar slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 33rd minute. 36 minutes into the game, Abel Fraco was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Potrero's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave C.A RIVER PLATE the free kick. Vladimiro Chuan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Aquilino Liher tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Igor Asier had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A hard shot 43 in the game by Abel Fraco from a close distance when the talented Zeledon Macias managed to make a qualified save. C.A RIVER PLATE's players were relieved. An unexpected shot in the 44th minute by Igor Asier got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. When Igor Asier came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the Potrero fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Igor Asier couldn't finish the play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Osvaldo Ipar was the one to do the kick off. Zeledon Macias didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Igor Asier went, in the 59th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. 64 minutes into the game, Igor Asier cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-0. Zeledon Macias was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Osvaldo Ipar in the 69th minute of play forced C.A RIVER PLATE's goalkeeper Zeledon Macias to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in C.A RIVER PLATE's zone, Igor Asier stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Zeledon Macias came out of the goal and Igor Asier tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Igor Asier received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Zeledon Macias tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Zeledon Macias showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Osvaldo Ipar in the 77th minute of the match. The supporters of Potrero booed when C.A RIVER PLATE was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edgard Norino didn't get a good kick on the ball.
