Spectators: 6681 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1681, VIP seats: 0) Zeledon Pueblo made the kick off and thus started the match. The Gilbert fans' excitement grew in the 4th match minute when Gilbert's Leonides Dacio looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 7th match minute, Herreria AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Delmar Bordat to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 10 minutes, Pascual Harri managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Herreria AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Pascual Harri was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Leonides Dacio took the ball and in the 12 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Cayetano Efren. Cayetano Efren dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Zeledon Pueblo charged in rather forcefully in the 33rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Zeledon Pueblo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Herreria AFC's Zeledon Pueblo got a free kick in the 33rd minute. In the 35thth minute of the game Leonides Dacio who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Herreria AFC's Cayetano Efren was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 39th match minute, Gilbert was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Simon Gomesano to maneuver through the defense. If Pascual Harri had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Leonides Dacio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Cayetano Efren tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After the first half Gilbert were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Leonides Dacio stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Santiago Indar might have been able to make a better finish in the 57th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Cayetano Efren. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Santiago Indar ran back to his position shaking his head. Cayetano Efren didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 57th minute, which inside left pole to 0-3. The audience was convinced that Zeledon Pueblo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dante Bizi was relentless in the 76th minute of the game. In the 80th of the match, Leonides Dacio tried to place the ball in the upper right corner, but Cayetano Efren got in the way and made a wonderful save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Leonides Dacio in the 82nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Cayetano Efren saved Herreria AFC from getting behind. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Gilbert had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
