Spectators: 6681 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1681, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Jacinto Venceslao made the kick off which started today's match. With an all-out effort, Anguilan's Enrique Resto threw himself towards the right post 3 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Jacinto Venceslao, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Dionisio Ospetsu came out of the goal in the 5th minute to try and stop a shot by Escalante FC's Salvador Prejun. But to his dismay, Salvador Prejun quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. In the 9th minute Jacinto Venceslao shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Enrique Resto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Enrique Resto was out of position in the 13 minute of play, and Silvano Casomiro capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Silvano Casomiro really showed his touch with that goal: 1-1. If Jacinto Venceslao had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jacinto Venceslao sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 31st minute, Salvador Prejun made a precise shot to the right of Dionisio Ospetsu. Anguilan's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. In the 34th match minute, Escalante FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gaspar Romano to maneuver through the defense. In the 38th minute Jacinto Venceslao shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Enrique Resto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Gaspar Romano fell near the penalty area in the 39th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Escalante FC's protests and gave Gaspar Romano a yellow card for diving instead. Gaspar Romano kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. Enrique Resto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jacinto Venceslao, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Aurelio Rafel who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 44thth minute tested the skills of Enrique Resto when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After the first half Escalante FC were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

With a couple of smart ball manuevers Aurelio Rafel in the 54th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Enrique Resto saved Escalante FC from getting behind. In the 55th match minute, Escalante FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Manuel Rodriguez to maneuver through the defense. Aurelio Rafel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 60 minutes into the game, Marcos Rameriz cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. Dionisio Ospetsu was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Enrique Resto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aurelio Rafel, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. Escalante FC's Marcos Rameriz got a good chance for a goal in the 67th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Nereo Oroitz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Enrique Resto having to interfere. Enrique Resto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aurelio Rafel in the 81st minute of play. Salvador Prejun struck a weak shot in the 85th minute. Dionisio Ospetsu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Escalante FC. If Salvador Prejun had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The Escalante FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Escalante FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
