Agustin Cresenciano might have been able to make a better finish in the 24th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Amadeo Firman. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Agustin Cresenciano ran back to his position shaking his head. Agustin Cresenciano took the ball and in the 25 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Amadeo Firman. River Plate's Elvio Santio proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 29th minute of the match, managed to save River Plate from getting a goal against them. After a defensive mix-up in River Plate's zone, Freddy Galindo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Elvio Santio came out of the goal and Freddy Galindo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Victorio Guillen charged in rather forcefully in the 31st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down.
