The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 4 minutes into the match, Club Sporting Marítimo's Godofredo Geleberto sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jimeno Fonda narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 6 minutes in the game, Godofredo Geleberto fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Jimeno Fonda having to interfere. After 7 played minutes LaSub23 got a freekick which was hit by Teobaldo Leobardo. After some fancy dribbling in the 8th minute, Baldomiro Polo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Club Sporting Marítimo's supporters rose to their feet, but Baldomiro Polo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jimeno Fonda breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to LaSub23 getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Mario Vitin hit a great ball. Jimeno Fonda made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Baldomiro Polo in the 12th minute of play. Amador Lartaun fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Silvano Evis having to interfere. When LaSub23's Amador Lartaun in the 23rd minute got a chance for a shot 23rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Club Sporting Marítimo's goalie prevented a goal. After 24 played minutes Club Sporting Marítimo got a freekick which was hit by Luisito Millrick. Maximino Rivas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Silvano Evis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Silvano Evis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Amador Lartaun, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 35th minute Baldomiro Polo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jimeno Fonda saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. LaSub23's Maximino Rivas got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Silvano Evis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Amador Lartaun, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. In the 48th minute Baldomiro Polo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jimeno Fonda saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Baldomiro Polo to strike the kick off in the second half. Silvano Evis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Amador Lartaun in the 56th minute of the match. Baldomiro Polo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Jimeno Fonda tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Amador Lartaun sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 67th minute, Maximino Rivas managed to get in a good position for a shot. LaSub23's supporters rose to their feet, but Maximino Rivas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Silvano Evis breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Baldomiro Polo in the 72nd minute of play forced LaSub23's goalkeeper Jimeno Fonda to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Godofredo Geleberto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In a very dangerous position, a player in Club Sporting Marítimo fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 85th minute. Penalty! Amador Lartaun fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Silvano Evis having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as Mario Vitin kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Silvano Evis. That made the score 0-3 in the 98 minute of play. LaSub23 played a much better game than Club Sporting Marítimo and deserved their victory. The Club Sporting Marítimo players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
