When the match had gone on for 5 minutes, Cecilio Ilazki put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Aquilino Haritzeder. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Hugo Formerio during the 8th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 9th minute, Hugo Formerio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Geronimo Cordarryl came out of the goal in the 13th minute to try and stop a shot by Queso Ruso FC's Carlos Cebo. But to his dismay, Carlos Cebo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Geronimo Cordarryl made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Camilo Frasco in the 17th minute of play. After having played for 18 minutes, Joel Saturnin managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Iriarte's supporters crossed their fingers, but Joel Saturnin was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Camilo Frasco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Geronimo Cordarryl having to interfere. In the 26th match minute, Iriarte was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cristo Lidon to maneuver through the defense. 35 minutes into the match, Queso Ruso FC's goal looked a bit too open when Joel Saturnin came free, but Aquilino Haritzeder reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Joel Saturnin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Aquilino Haritzeder tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Danilo Macario fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Geronimo Cordarryl having to interfere. When Marcelo Eutor fell near the penalty area in the 55th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Queso Ruso FC's protests and gave Marcelo Eutor a yellow card for diving instead. In the 55th minute, one of Queso Ruso FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Queso Ruso FC. Joel Saturnin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 60th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 65 minutes into the match, Danilo Macario had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Geronimo Cordarryl. Iriarte's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Danilo Macario was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. Carlos Cebo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Geronimo Cordarryl stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Camilo Frasco's shot from short distance in the 77th minute. When Joel Saturnin came up free with the goalie in the 79th minute, the Iriarte fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Joel Saturnin couldn't finish the play. Joel Saturnin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Queso Ruso FC getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Albino Oton hit a great ball. Iriarte's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Fernando Palos in the 85th minute. A well-hit corner resulted in Mauro Eskuin heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Joel Saturnin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
