Marcelo Cuarto didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Rolando Saturnin went, in the 19th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. In the 23rd minute Rolando Saturnin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcelo Cuarto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 31st minute Cecilio Curcio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcelo Cuarto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 36th minute of the game, Genaro Gaueko landed unfortunately after trying to head the ball, and pulled a muscle in the back, so badly that he had to leave the field. 36 minutes into the game, Enrique Frichoso was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Candelaria FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Pritiau FC the free kick. A collision led to Candelaria FC getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Enrique Frichoso hit a great ball. After some careless play in the Candelaria FC defense, Horacio Leheren kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Sergio Lapurdi. The Candelaria FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sergio Lapurdi should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rolando Saturnin in the 44th minute of play forced Pritiau FC's goalkeeper Marcelo Cuarto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rolando Saturnin's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Marcelo Cuarto read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 46th minute of play. When Cecilio Curcio came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the Candelaria FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cecilio Curcio couldn't finish the play. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Horacio Leheren stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Candelaria FC's Cecilio Curcio ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Marcelo Cuarto. Marcelo Cuarto yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-3. If Rolando Saturnin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Pritiau FC's Marcelo Cuarto got control of the ball when Cecilio Curcio tried to sneak it across the goal line. Pritiau FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 60th minute, when Cecilio Curcio scored to the left of an out of position Marcelo Cuarto, making the score, 1-4. Rolando Saturnin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Marcelo Cuarto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 67 minutes into the match, Pritiau FC's goalkeeper Marcelo Cuarto had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cecilio Curcio. Cecilio Curcio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcelo Cuarto having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Candelaria FC's zone, Horacio Leheren stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sergio Lapurdi came out of the goal and Horacio Leheren tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 80th minute, Justino Ostots hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Horacio Leheren sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Horacio Leheren fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sergio Lapurdi having to interfere. Pritiau FC's Nicanor Hanni got a good chance for a goal in the 89th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Horacio Leheren sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Pritiau FC manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Candelaria FC to win.
