After the first half Charqui AFC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Maximiliano Eriz's late challenge caught a Salto's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ricardo Cordera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Simon Atarratze, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. 64 minutes into the game, one of Salto:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The goalkeeper, Angelino Ariando, was totally fooled by Charqui AFC's Nemesio Otsando, who 65 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. When Gogo Txerran fell near the penalty area in the 74th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Salto's protests and gave Gogo Txerran a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Charqui AFC booed when Salto was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gogo Txerran didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Salto getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Arnulfo Inge hit a great ball. Placido Ostadar who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 79thth minute tested the skills of Angelino Ariando when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Casimiro Primo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 100th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The Charqui AFC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
