Encrucijada FC's Wilfredo Sugar proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 16th minute of the match, managed to save Encrucijada FC from getting a goal against them. In the 17th minute Rodrigo Rey shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wilfredo Sugar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Wilfredo Sugar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rodrigo Rey in the 19th minute of play. Wilfredo Sugar made an important save on a dangerous shot by Horacio Jacindo in the 21st minute. Wilfredo Sugar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rodrigo Rey in the 23rd minute of the match. Generoso Cordeiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Abelardo Salomone having to interfere. In the 45th minute, Horacio Jacindo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jimeno Francis's late challenge caught a Ramblones's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jimeno Francis helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Encrucijada FC's Jimeno Francis got a free kick in the 48th minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Rodrigo Rey stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 65th minute Romeo Salomone shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wilfredo Sugar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Rodrigo Rey had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rodrigo Rey in the 72nd minute of play forced Encrucijada FC's goalkeeper Wilfredo Sugar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 74th minute, Rodrigo Rey ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Wilfredo Sugar was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0.
