In the 46th minute, Baldomiro Quirze got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Santos Loreto stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Victorio Cugat's shot from short distance in the 47th minute.

After a defensive mix-up in Porres FC's zone, Sergio Mincho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Silvano Mattin came out of the goal and Sergio Mincho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Atahona booed when Porres FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Horacio Rolado didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sergio Mincho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Atahona's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
