Rosendo Malvin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rosendo Malvin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leon Licerio in the 11th minute of the match. In the 18th minute Leon Licerio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rosendo Malvin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fausto Brion charged in rather forcefully in the 19th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Fausto Brion the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Club Atlético Zavalla booed when Coihueco FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fausto Brion didn't get a good kick on the ball. 23 minutes into the match, Coihueco FC's goal looked a bit too open when Natalio Piearres came free, but Rosendo Malvin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Leon Licerio couldn't finish the play.
