Aaron Sandalio came free with the goalkeeper in the 17th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Marcial Senen could save by the left post. When the match clock showed 18 minutes, the score became 3-0 when Hilario Gai sped through Pontevedra F.C's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Marcial Senen. Hilario Gai received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Marcial Senen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 28th minute Hilario Gai shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcial Senen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Aaron Sandalio got free with Marcial Senen in the 33rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Marcial Senen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hilario Gai in the 40th minute of play. In the 41st minute, Hilario Gai fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. 43 minutes into the match, Pontevedra F.C's goalkeeper Marcial Senen had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ovidio Aresti. Aaron Sandalio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Hilario Gai succeeded in the game's 72nd minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 7-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 76th minute, Hilario Gai managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lavalle's supporters rose to their feet, but Hilario Gai was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marcial Senen breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Marcial Senen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hilario Gai, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Eleuterio Jatsu's late challenge caught a Lavalle's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Pontevedra F.C:s Marcial Senen showed great skill when he stopped Ciro Benvide:s penalty. When Hilario Gai came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the Lavalle fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hilario Gai couldn't finish the play. In the 89th minute, Hilario Gai made a precise shot to the right of Marcial Senen. Pontevedra F.C's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 8-0. Lavalle's Aaron Sandalio got a good chance for a goal in the 97th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Lavalle's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
