A collision led to C A RIVER PLATE getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Vinicio Nayely hit a great ball. In the 26th match minute, C A RIVER PLATE was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Maximiliano Florinio to maneuver through the defense. C A RIVER PLATE's Jaime Feo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Justino Leguizamón in the 29th minute of play. If German Clementi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Justino Leguizamón was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 34th minute. Ferro Carril Encrucijada's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Justino Leguizamón received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Jaime Feo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If German Clementi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

52 minutes into the match, Ferro Carril Encrucijada's goal looked a bit too open when Abelardo Vimaro came free, but Alfredo Tximitx reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jaime Feo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcos Evarado in the 54th minute of play. Vinicio Nayely hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. Marcos Evarado recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. C A RIVER PLATE's Jaime Feo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Teofilo Atauri in the 59th minute of play. The supporters of Ferro Carril Encrucijada booed when C A RIVER PLATE was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vinicio Nayely didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 63rd minute, Justino Leguizamón managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ferro Carril Encrucijada's supporters rose to their feet, but Justino Leguizamón was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jaime Feo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 68th match minute, Ferro Carril Encrucijada was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Prudencio Gonzales to maneuver through the defense. Alfredo Tximitx took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Abelardo Vimaro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Marcos Evarado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jaime Feo having to interfere. Marcos Evarado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 81st minute, Abelardo Vimaro managed to get in a good position for a shot. C A RIVER PLATE's supporters rose to their feet, but Abelardo Vimaro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alfredo Tximitx breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Justino Leguizamón had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marcos Evarado took the ball and in the 89 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jaime Feo. Jaime Feo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. Jaime Feo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Justino Leguizamón, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. For all the effort they put into the match, the C A RIVER PLATE players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Ferro Carril Encrucijada.
