In the 29thth minute of the game Teofilo Gabon who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Argüello's Severo Obeko was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Argüello's Eustacio Jon got a good chance for a goal in the 31st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to Chicago getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Haroldo Frances hit a great ball. Uriel Segio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Eustacio Jon took the ball and in the 35 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Paulo Gabon. Paulo Gabon dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Anibal Hartz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Severo Obeko having to interfere. Teofilo Gabon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Severo Obeko tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Argüello getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Ciriaco Joey hit a great ball. Placido Lalla hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. 47 minutes into the match, Chicago's Julian Aguilera broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Eustacio Jon's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Paulo Gabon read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 52nd minute of play. 56 minutes into the game, Chicago's Teofilo Gabon nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Severo Obeko made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. In the 86th minute, Leonides Mirande hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 90th minute Argüello were awarded a corner. Ciriaco Joey went to the cornerflag to take it. Argüello's Ciriaco Joey was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Paulo Gabon in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Eustacio Jon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Paulo Gabon made an important save on a dangerous shot by Uriel Segio in the 93rd minute.
