Gouin AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luisito Olivar was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Serafino Hitzeder stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Luisito Olivar's shot from short distance in the 28th minute. With an all-out effort, Hernández FC's Efrain Oinaz threw himself towards the right post 34 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Victorino Muno, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Victorino Muno received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Efrain Oinaz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Primitivo Oinaz's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Efrain Oinaz read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 38th minute of play. Primitivo Oinaz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Urbano Checa hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. Hernández FC's Primitivo Oinaz got a good chance for a goal in the 46th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Victorino Muno was the one to do the kick off. Virgilio Procopio recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 59th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 63 minutes, Clemente Claude mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Hernández FC and the Gouin AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Hernández FC getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Clemente Claude hit a great ball. 68 minutes into the game, Paolo Basualdo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Hernández FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Gouin AFC the free kick. A collision led to Hernández FC getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Paolo Basualdo hit a great ball. In the 70th minute, Gouin AFC's Virgilio Procopio ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Serafino Hitzeder. Serafino Hitzeder yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Amador Conrao in the 73rd minute of play forced Gouin AFC's goalkeeper Efrain Oinaz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marcos Bertran charged in rather forcefully in the 74th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Marcos Bertran the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Efrain Oinaz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Primitivo Oinaz, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute.
