Samuel Vasco charged in rather forcefully in the 19th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Samuel Vasco the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Darwin's Samuel Vasco got a free kick in the 19th minute. 23 minutes into the match, Darwin's Teodoro Dino sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Patricio Blai narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Teodoro Dino in the 31st minute of play forced Yuquerí's goalkeeper Patricio Blai to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Eulalio Paskal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 42 minutes, Godfredo Michael managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Darwin's supporters crossed their fingers, but Godfredo Michael was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 44th minute, Teodoro Dino left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Darwin fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. After the first half Darwin were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Eulalio Paskal to strike the kick off in the second half. When Anier Acuña came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the Yuquerí fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Anier Acuña couldn't finish the play. If Eulalio Paskal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 55th minute, Delmiro Eufrasio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Darwin's Godfredo Michael got a good chance for a goal in the 58th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Patricio Blai took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Teodoro Dino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Delmiro Eufrasio charged in rather forcefully in the 69th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Delmiro Eufrasio the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 73 minutes into the game, Eulalio Paskal cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Haroldo Ermano was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 79th minute Anier Acuña shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Haroldo Ermano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Haroldo Ermano stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Eulalio Paskal's shot from short distance in the 80th minute. Yuquerí's Patricio Blai proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 88th minute of the match, managed to save Yuquerí from getting a goal against them. Haroldo Ermano came out of the goal in the 89th minute to try and stop a shot by Yuquerí's Eulalio Paskal. But to his dismay, Eulalio Paskal quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-2. Yuquerí's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
