When Prudencio Cesario came up free with the goalie in the 3rd minute, the Atletico Independiente fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Prudencio Cesario couldn't finish the play. Rolando Maldonado showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ramon Bento in the 7th minute of the match. If Celso Tuste had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Prudencio Cesario received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Teodosio Gonsalve tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Loventué's Rosendo Jakes got a free kick in the 17th minute. A collision led to Atletico Independiente getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Lucas Vermudo hit a great ball. In the 27th minute Felipe Silvino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rolando Maldonado saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Enzo Piarres in the 29th minute of play forced Loventué's goalkeeper Teodosio Gonsalve to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lucas Vermudo's late challenge caught a Loventué's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lucas Vermudo helped the player get up and apologised. Lucas Vermudo hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Marcelino Soin got free with Rolando Maldonado in the 43rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The Loventué players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Atletico Independiente were winning 0-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Felipe Silvino made a kick off. A collision led to Atletico Independiente getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Isidoro Cordarrol hit a great ball. With a little luck, Loventué's Teodosio Gonsalve got control of the ball when Celso Tuste tried to sneak it across the goal line. Rolando Maldonado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marcelino Soin, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. 65 minutes into the match, Atletico Independiente's goal looked a bit too open when Felipe Silvino came free, but Rolando Maldonado reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 70 minutes into the match, Atletico Independiente's goal looked a bit too open when Ramon Bento came free, but Rolando Maldonado reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. But to his dismay, Prudencio Cesario quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. When the final whistle went the supporters of Atletico Independiente were delighted that their team had defeated the much more dominant Loventué side.
