With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tiburcio Amor in the 15th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Sergio Cordearo saved los mariquitas from getting behind. Marco Bakar who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 17thth minute tested the skills of Justo Gorbea when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Virgilio Fidele fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sergio Cordearo having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tiburcio Amor in the 21st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sergio Cordearo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Flavio Lluterio hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. If Virgilio Fidele had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sergio Cordearo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Virgilio Fidele in the 26th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in los mariquitas's zone, Julio Cristofol stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sergio Cordearo came out of the goal and Julio Cristofol tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Virgilio Fidele charged in rather forcefully in the 36th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Virgilio Fidele the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Virgilio Fidele hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. In the 40th minute, Luisito Tolino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 43rd minute, Virgilio Fidele managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gaboto's supporters rose to their feet, but Virgilio Fidele was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sergio Cordearo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tiburcio Amor stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Sergio Cordearo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tiburcio Amor, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. After some careless play in the los mariquitas defense, Virgilio Fidele kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Sergio Cordearo. The los mariquitas fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sergio Cordearo should have stopped the shot. Justo Gorbea took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marco Bakar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tiburcio Amor in the 76th minute of play forced los mariquitas's goalkeeper Sergio Cordearo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 80 played minutes los mariquitas got a freekick which was hit by Timoteo Uxio.
