Silvestre Cesaro might have been able to make a better finish in the 24th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Raul Azevedo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Silvestre Cesaro ran back to his position shaking his head. 27 minutes into the match, Palavicini AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Lino Vermudo came free, but Raul Azevedo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Silvestre Cesaro came up free with the goalie in the 29th minute, the Azara fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Silvestre Cesaro couldn't finish the play. Domingo Cidro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Inocencio Iratxo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Lino Vermudo fell near the penalty area in the 33rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Azara's protests and gave Lino Vermudo a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Azara getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Lino Vermudo hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 38th minute, Silvestre Cesaro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Azara's supporters rose to their feet, but Silvestre Cesaro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Raul Azevedo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Raul Azevedo made a fantastic save in the 41st minute, when Silvestre Cesaro sent off a good shot on target. Palavicini AFC's Raul Azevedo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 47th minute of the match, managed to save Palavicini AFC from getting a goal against them. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

After having played for 64 minutes, Diego Felipo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Palavicini AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Diego Felipo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
