The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After some fancy dribbling in the 5th minute, Cleto Kaiet managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gimnasia y Esgrima LP's supporters rose to their feet, but Cleto Kaiet was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Aureliano Birjaio breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Ismael Jaume had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Paulo Garin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 16th minute, Ismael Jaume got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 19th minute, Eloy Salamon hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Delmar Ekain fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without David Mon having to interfere. Ismael Jaume's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but David Mon read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 21st minute of play. The supporters of Victorica booed when Gimnasia y Esgrima LP was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Domingo Venceslas didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ismael Jaume fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without David Mon having to interfere. If Delmar Ekain had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gimnasia y Esgrima LP's David Mon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ismael Jaume in the 48th minute of play.

After 85 minutes of play, Victorica's Delmar Ekain made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. David Mon was left in no man's land by his defense there! When Ismael Jaume came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the Victorica fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ismael Jaume couldn't finish the play. When Honorato Blai fell near the penalty area in the 96th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Victorica's protests and gave Honorato Blai a yellow card for diving instead. In the 96th minute, Honorato Blai hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Victorica played a much better game than Gimnasia y Esgrima LP and deserved their victory. The Gimnasia y Esgrima LP players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
